Good day with 21 trout caught & released.

Had a great day in a small tannin river yesterday using the Mepps Aglia Mouche Noire inline copper blade spinner. Conditions were quite cool early on but became better as the day went on. Water level was low but still good enough to be able to pick up a few trout. Well, it turned out to be a top day...

Boof Diary 2019

Since the debacle at the Codference my closest friends have told me that I’ve changed, that I don’t mix with people and rarely smile. Its probably true after that let down, I know that I rarely get a good nights’ sleep now and have a very negative view of the future. I’ve come to accept that the dre...

Re: "Big Redfin" challenge

I dunno much about them but I pulled a 47cm fish out of the local last saturday. Funnily enough I'd hooked a bit of weed and was ripping the lure back to get the weed off and re-cast when the fish smashed it.

Close, I do call my spots by people's names and not by fish (ie. my Son's Snapper Spot which he found sounding with me, when he was about 10-12 is named after him), named after od...

Re: Top water lure bibs - where to buy

Surface snakes, tend not to have that shape bib on them and quite often they are alloy, so you can tune the lure slightly if needed. Have a look at the Mudeye snake for examples.

Re: Top water lure bibs - where to buy

Re: Top water lure bibs - where to buy

Not 100% sure, but the surface bibs give the lure action, which is probably more than what a snake has if it’s naturally swimming across the top. The small bib will give it a bit of presence to attract the fish, but won’t overstate the actual action of the lure. My thoughts anyway.
