Get hold of some Mepps spinners (Aglia & Black Fury) in sizes #0 & #1 for medium to large rivers & #00 for small stream fishing and have a anti-kink set up as well to stop line twist.. Checkout my trout fishing in the Tasmanian section on the forum or tips- techniques on this site or the one below ...

Re: Retrieving Spinners

What size line and what size reel are you using? 8lb line (Berkley Trilene) and an Okuma ZMan Z-Series Size 40 reel. My own personal opinion is that the combo is too heavy for spinners, I like to use a 1 - 3kg rod with 4lb braid and leader, the weight of the line and the retrieval rate of the reel ...

Re: Sorrento pier trip

I don't have a great success fishing full moon especially clear blue sky with low wind. What I believe anyway. Based on my personal records. I'm inclined to agr...

Re: Retrieving Spinners

Bit of an update. I went to Rowville Lakes today and used the celta on my lighter rod and hooked a rainbow. Unfortunately I dropped it at my feet as it spat the hook. Bloody spewing but that's fishing sometimes.

Re: Roxburgh park lake trout?

Anyone know if you are allowed to fish in Jack Roper reserve? I haven't been there at all and I know there was a big fish kill a couple of years back? You guys reckon there are any redfin in there? You should be allowed to fish Jack Roper, I've read plenty of reports from there over the years. Most...

PB Carp on 4-Foot Rod

I managed to get out for a fish today in the warm winter sunshine for what only hours later proved to be my last fish for 6 weeks. I'd had a run of 7 consecutive donuts so I was desperate to smash the drought. I decided on a location not far from home that I hadn't fished since I was 14 and that had...

Mirror Carp + Hybrid 29/9/20

Got out for the first fishing session post-lockdown this arvo after work, hitting up a location within 5km of both my own house and a mate's. We ended up with 6 carp between us, 4 falling for his worms and 2 falling for mine. I caught my first mirror in over 10 years, funnily enough the other couple...
