Re: Anyone could take me fishing for squid please!
Jason if those southern end piers are too far for you to go to, try Beaumaris or even mordialloc piers mate. I have caught plenty of nice squid from both those piers  My biggest squid (45cm hood) and most squid caught in a session (15) were down at beaumauris, it's a beautiful little spot...

Black rock 29/10/2019
Hi guys, back from a long hiatus where I was focussing on school, exams are over now so I'm back :) Went out to black rock last night with soft plastics, and on the third cast out towards the shipwreck I felt something pulling. I slowly reeled it in and as soon as it got the surface, I could see a s...

They were small like 60cm ones. So could easily be them. I have also seen some monster flathead landed there. Only one ...

Re: brighton pier
Headed out to Brighton tonight, 8-10:15 The moment I put my plastic in the water there was a row of quick nibbles and no hookup, this continued for the whole retrieve. Pulled the plastic out of the water and the tail was demolished. This went on and off for a few casts, until I managed to get onto o...

Re: New rod for SP and squid
Cheers guys, ended up picking up a catana 2-4kg for like 65$ on sale (20% off all Shimano rods, 40% off selected rods) as well as 4 squid jags (2 for 25$ deal), and a packet of slim swimz in motor oil to try out, and with that some pro cure scent. I've never used scent, does it make a difference?

Re: New rod for SP and squid
Popped out for a quick fish this morning despite the wind to test the rod in something better than a pool, and I was amazed that I could feel what the lure had landed on (weeds rock sand) even with the windy conditions. It was very slow going, but I managed to catch a small flatty and a port Jackson...

Cunningham pier 4/11/2019
Hey all, Was visiting my cousins who live up that way, headed to the pier at around 6pm, me on the lure and my cousins on bait. At around 6:15, third cast in, as I was reeling in my lure to recast a massive snook came out of nowhere and smashed it on the surface, it looked like it was as long as my ...
