Yarra bream last weekend
Went to yarra around web bridge Sat morning. Tried low budget gear from AliExpress. $60 reel and $30 rod. They're meant to be "car gear". Last time i was fishing the waterfront we caught bugger all. Any tips? just flicking 2inch grubs around the yacht club. Me and my mate both saw a big shovelnose and a couple of snapper just cruising around though! Been hit and miss lately. Between now and winter, usually there's aussie salmon around.

I like my 8ft Sephia egi rod. Good for landbased and still ok on kayak. I use long handle net though, one of those berkley rubber net. So scooping into the net isn't too hard.
