If you can fit it in your budget I'd look at the 17.5a FPV Li Ion batteries. I've got one in the kayak, it's got a good water tight plug and the battery itself is fully sealed so it doesn't matter if it gets a bit wet. You could be waiting a while for another second hand Slayer 13. I've only ever seen two of them come up second hand in three years, one of which I know own. What type of fishing are you mainly using the yak for? Each yak has it's positives and negatives; speed, ease of distance pedalling etc..etc.....

Looking at the area more closely (thanks Nudie for the location) it looks like the water is a bit discoloured around there, presumably because it's the mouth of a river. Down here at least that wouldn't usually be considered good for squidding but who knows what weird Queensland squid are into. Look...
