Re: Snapper fishing may be banned for three years in SA

So we should bring back netters and encourage long lining as well because it was all a big mistake ?
Seems like they are doing it the correct way in SA then after all ?
Another breeding cycle should fix it all up. Job done.

4 of us went out in my tub yesterday (2couples) was going to launch from Altona but got diverted towards Geelong as the city bound lanes were closed. So Werribee was an easy answer. Launched at 12 - beautiful conditions, cruised towards my usual spot. Ended up with 6 flatties and 3 good size gummies...

Thats a ripper session out Yota, well done! Thanks Robbie it was a great afternoon - quick session for me, usually if I go out on the boat I stay out for at least 7-8 hours and I usually start before sunrise so this was a quick afternoon session. A bit of friendly banter back at the cleaning table ...

Re: Lithium Boat Battery

Some lithium batteries have built in features for charging requirements and some don't. Either way it seems that there is a certain way LiFePo batteries need to be charged to get the best out of them.
Just some general info.

Re: Bar Crossing

Hi Christian, Barwon bar and PP Heads/The Rip are quite different in that Barwon has a surf break out the front, whereas The Rip is a HUGE volume of water passing through a deep skinny channel that can have all sorts of influences. Tide, wind, swell, big ships, underwater terrain - causing whirlpool...

Re: Ya gotta laugh

From my understanding they’re spread right along the coast, and the bulk of them are sitting off Anglesea area, so surprised you didn’t hook up Yota! Good on ya for having a crack though mate. You would have clocked up a few kms going to Lorne and back. Shame you didn’t even score a kingie on that ...

Re: Lithium Boat Battery

So actual usability 85%, not 100%? That matches my research on lipo Hi Kenny, yes that’s about it, This quote from redarc in my 2nd post on this topic :” Each is built from nominally 3.2 volt cells - four provide 12.8 volts at about 97% charge falling to about 12.7 volts at 20% SoC and then falling...
