If your going to.launch once a year then no it wont make a difference.. That's how the rod is suppose to be.
It is a Spiggot Ferrule.
The idea being it is that it eliminates flat spots in the section.
It is a common ferrule system on alot of American Fly Rods.
We use the same system on our TiCA Graphite Extreme Series Rods

I have many brands that I'm Associated with Professionally and that's why I put them at the bottom of Profile so other followers on this page can see who I'm Associated with and can then make their own decisions on a topic I talk about.

Thanks for the reply Rick, i knew you would be able to shed some light on the situation. can you elaborate a bit more on the differences between the pro tournament angler and the field staff, im quite interested to know whats involved, and what the sponsored anglers have to do as part of their role...
