Re: Free Fishing Cart

Not a problem guys.
Bacchus marsh is in a regional area, 5 mins up the road from yakdoc.
Seb, pm me when you are going to see yakdoc (Steve is a top bloke, have been to his house before) and I’ll drop it off to you.

Re: Ppb top end

Picked up one 65cm last night at Altona in 4.5m, didn’t sound up any schools though. Plenty of pinkies and salmon ~25cm around though. Everything was on sp and calamari, nothing was interested in the pilchards.

Re: Are we allowed to "trim" river bank vegetations?

On a recent trip up the howqua river, the campsite we stayed at had signage up notifying that the blackberry bushes had been sprayed with herbicide. My uneducated guess is that if you were to cut some invasive plants back to get access to the bank it wouldn’t be a terrible thing, unless if it is a s...

Re: 3x western lakes, Krispy Kreme and Dunkin, potato cake, chicken strip and sauce.

I fished Moorabool till dark. Not a touch on bait or lure. None of the other fisho did any good either. Few fish on the surface in the evening . Was good to get out of the city though. Sounds like a slow day everywhere yesterday Great read Sebb. Would’ve been fun casting with your new toy, fish or ...

Re: "Landing" net - yak fishing

I also use the Berkeley silicone net from the yak, it’s big, but I have a rack I store it in behind my seat so it’s not in the way. I like it because as Mazman said, hooks don’t stick in it, and squid ink/slime rinses out of it easily. If you’re worried about your net sinking, you can slip some pool...

St Leonards 27th August

On Saturday I had to start work at 10am, so I planned to wake up at 4:00, fish from 5:30-8:00, then head to work. Of course I woke up at 1:00, then tossed and turned for an hour, debating with myself whether to go fishing early, or try to get back to sleep. Once the supporting side (to go fishing) h...

Re: St Leonards 27th August

Great session there mate and a beautiful bit of coastline to fish. It won’t be long till the big spring squid start showing up. Can’t beat some fresh calamari. I was hoping to have been lucky enough to catch an early arrival, but it wasn’t to be. It’s my second time fishing St Leonards, for me it i...

Re: Selling Hobie Compass kayak camo with 180° and Hobie wheels

I love the Pro Angler, but if I had my time again, I’d get a compass instead.

Are you both getting new yaks Sebb, or focusing to another fishing platform?

Re: Selling Hobie Compass kayak camo with 180° and Hobie wheels

I love the Pro Angler, but if I had my time again, I’d get a compass instead. Are you both getting new yaks Sebb, or focusing to another fishing platform? The compass is lighter and simpler. For a quick fishing, it's good, not a lot of storage though. PA is good for full on fishing, but yeah, heavi...

Re: Pro Fisher Caught Cheating

Been a few scandals throughout the years I remember reading about a high profile tournament angler weighing in fish from his private dam. I think I watched a documentary on this - an American angler was caught growing bass in an aquarium in his garage, then hiding the bass in a hidden live well in ...
