Re: KGW Gippsland Lakes- Ah Ha

Fished most of last week for nothing in the KGW department. But being a persistent bugger I just couldn't believe that they would have left without at least saying goodbye. So I kept trying the usual spots and finally found a few ; 10 on Sun, 9 on Mon, and 4 today. 41 - 36 cm. Hard going though - to...

Re: McLoughlins Beach-A change of Scenery

So towed the latest family member (Stessco Angler 395) down to MCL yesterday and met up with my trusty Offsider (though he is UK pension age on Sat so maybe that should read 'Rusty' Offsider) for a fish at Mann's Entrance channel. Arrived at pretty much low tide - so low that even trimmed up at 10kp...

Re: Offshore Lakes Entrance

I was out there yesterday, I dropped the boat in about 8.00 am, I had to use the ramp opposite Laura St because there was no parking left at the Skate Park ramp, as it turned out, Laura St was better due to no climbing up and down the very high dock as at the Skate Park. I went straight out to 6 mil...

Re: Offshore Lakes Entrance

Headed outside yesterday with the aim of catching a gummy or something else for dinner. First went east between Lake Tyers and Pettmans in 20m of water. Only scored a gurnard so tracked back to 6 mile. Half a dozen boats spread out in the area and one damn seal who decided he needed our catch more t...

Re: KGW Gippsland Lakes

Well I can report that they have not returned so far. All morning, all my usual spots , donuts. I will give it a week or two and try again. Meanwhile I will just have to put up with gummy fishing once the weather improves.

Re: Stacer 469 outlaw

I have a 4.5 m tinny & take it offshore with no issues if the conditions are good, you just need a bit of common sense in deciding to go out or not, Keep a good eye on the weather reports and the current speed (Gippsland Ports website) for crossing the bar. I have taken this boat off shore from Meri...

Re: Offshore Lakes Entrance

My 2 recent trips West of The Pines resulted in a few decent Flatties among many smaller ones. Also a few large Gurnard. Anchored up in 10 metres and put out a burley bomb for an hour and finally hooked a large Gummy - which spat the hook next to the boat. Also made a quick visit to the local KGW s...
