POST-FIRES PROBLEMS FOR MACCAS
In NSW this time but great to see fisheries managers are trying! The article is incorrect in that there are at least a couple of other small populations of MACCAS in NSW including near Cooma and in the Retreat River. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2020/feb/15/last-population-macquarie-perch...

Re: 500th trout on the last day of the season.
Hi Adrian
Another great trout year despite your various aches and pains. We will never know but it would be interesting to know how many of these trout you have caught and released on one or more occasions - I am sure there would be quite a few few!
Well done!

Re: THE FISH SPECIES YOU LEAST LIKE TO EAT
It is interesting that Australian Salmon get a universal thumbs down! I have eaten smoked salmon and they were quite OK done that way - and in fish cakes. Sad that such a good looking and good to catch fish does so poorly on the table!

My father had zero interest in fishing and when I was in about Form 4 at high school I persuaded him to fish in the Glenelg with me near Casterton. He hooked a very respectable Brown Trout (on a R...
