The advantage is obvious, you wont get snagged too easily in comparison to the normal jig heads. Not really a disadvantage, but you gotta strike and set the hook a bit firm (since the hook is kinda hidden). I used to fish plastics with a 6'6 glass rod and reel from Kmart with mono - didn't catch a thing, when I upgraded to a catana and the sienna with braid I started to really enjoy it, and catch fish as well. I'm just replacing the sienna because ever since it got dunked its gone on a downward spiral...
