Heading there today for an attempt
Good luck.
Natural colour usually works well in clear blue sky like today.
Not a squid but did get a big trevally and flathead
Good work mate, I love trevally, fights good and taste good too, raw with a bit of soy sauce is always yummy

Re: Werribee river 12/12/2020

Nice report! Had no idea so many fish were there, nice day wind can always be a pain so it's better to be in amongst the tall trees. Sounds like you had a great time Sebb

Re: Mt Martha Squid Report 12/12

Dawn or dusk will produce more consistently for you on that ledge. Also if you have a heavier rod and the wind is any good, ti's worth whacking the first little one out under a balloon in the summer months, especially if you're fishing in the morning. Ah, live squid? Cheers Dougie, will do. :tu:

Good effort mate, nothing better than catching your own food. Have to learn how to catch potatoes now, some chips would’ve been perfect with that.
Haha I should have added it to the pics, I got red rooster chips with them :sr:

Mt Martha Squid Report 12/12

First of all, WE GOT ONTO SOME SQUID! Fished Mt Martha for around an hour from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm, landing 2 medium size squid. And Fished the same area from around 4 pm to 6 pm and landed 2 smaller squids. All squid were caught on the outgoing tide, there was no wind and the water was the clearest...

Re: Predicting snapper bite by looking at weather conditions

Hey buddy! Awesome!! Glad you are finding the info helpful. Thats our aim really! If you are fishing stormy weather (which is good for snapper) you want 4 oz snapper sinkers or 4 oz star sinkers (beach). If the wind is above 15 knots, upgrade to 5 oz snapper or 5 oz star sinkers (beach). Have you h...

Re: Portsea and Sorrento Pier

Always loved going down to Sorrento, just has seemed to not fish as good as it used to, might have to give it another go. :gj: It still fishes well but I do agree that it used to be better. That area for me is by far the most consistent for landbased lure fishing in ppb although that could also be ...

Re: Predicting snapper bite by looking at weather conditions

Hey I joined your Facebook group the other day! Great video with good information man.
Quick question, what size sinkers do you use in that area and what sort of shape... needing to stock up on new ones :oo:
