That's a lovely mecca mate. Truly a beautiful part of Victoria up around Woori.
thanks
Have caught 1 other macca there a few years ago too. Not that common (for me) but still there and looking healthy. Both returned of course :tu:

Re: Woori over Easter

Good variety of fish there. I caught my first fish from the Yarra - a brown trout - this summer in Warby. I was dying to catch a MP but it was not to be... Coincidently, I was in the area for work through a 'working for Victoria' program and a lot has been done over the past 6 months to reduce the ...

Re: chasing bigger cod

So been trying a few different things. Went for a sizable chunk of cheese soaked chicken on a 5/0 hook and caught a bloody Silver Perch of 50cm. Didn't even know they got that size. https://i.imgur.com/gxH6dVu.jpg Then a bit later (different trip) had an evening rod in chasing yella or carp with a 2...

Re: Rocklands

Rocklands is being heavily stocked with Murray Cod and Golden Perch. This has been going on for a few years now so some should have survived and be catchable size by now. Might be worth trying a bit of cheese. There are also plenty of yabbies so if you can catch some of them put a hook in one and ch...

Re: chasing bigger cod

Chicken and or Shrimp (probably already used shrimp but it’s not mentioned) could be another alternative to try. Most importantly just keep at it and it’ll happen eventually. Never had much luck with cod on shrimp myself. Yellas is another story with 2shrimp plus worm combo being the standout. Have...

Re: chasing bigger cod

Just cheese on a 5/0-7/0 circle hook and time on the water trying different flows/structures imo and you'll come into a big one eventually Yep this is what I normally do. Interesting point.....I did find one hole where I pulled out 2 carp around 70cm with 5/0 hook and cheese. Both hooked in the lip...
