Re: Weed problem in Suburban Lakes, getting bad now!

My favourite redfin spot is choked at the moment. I'm not across the species of weed, all I know is it's the type that seems to grow through every inch of the water column and cover a whole body of water. That would be the pest weed doing that, Egeria Densa http://vro.agriculture.vic.gov.au/dpi/vro...

Re: Weed problem in Suburban Lakes, getting bad now!

I agree with some of the points but not the blanket statement that weed is good. Most of the weed is non native stuff, especially the parrot feather which is seriously nasty stuff. Albert Park will be completely unfishable in a couple of years because of it, as it forms tight rafts and will touch th...

Weed problem in Suburban Lakes, getting bad now!

Just wondering if anyone else is noticing how severe the weed is getting in nearly every suburban lake in Melbourne? Over the holidays I have fished at a few of the family fishing lakes and it seems like it is getting so bad it's making fishing (or anything else) almost impossible. To me it looks li...

Fish the Goulburn at Murchison, you can camp right on the river. Access is good and the fishing is great too.

Re: Back in lockdown again.

You can't really blame this lockdown on people who are not vaccinated. All we hear from the government is blame, whether that be a poorly trained security guard, a nebuliser, a banking app, the public or business owners, the one thing the Victorian government is certain of is that nothing is ever th...

Re: Best reel grease that you can recommend

Thank you for the replies. That was an interesting read and I almost got the impression it is down to your own sense of comfort with the drag.
I just order some Cal's too, was very cheap so I'll give that a go.

Best reel grease that you can recommend

My drags have been getting a bit sticky lately and was going to give them a bit of TLC. Just wondering what you're all using? I normally use the Daiwa blue stuff but I am not convinced it's the greatest. Any recommendations on something that will get my drag silky smooth again? I will installing new...
