Generally I purchase rods / reels from specialty shops. Lures I purchase when they are on sale - from anywhere. I have started purchasing lures online from the US but these are generally types / colors that are not available here in Oz.
thanks

Surf fishing Waranga Basin!
As the title suggests, that is what it felt like! Strong winds were blowing so I knew what to expect when I traveled out to one of the inlets. I was hoping for a trout or redfin on lures - most likely outcome would have been redfin. I was fishing on a ledge and honestly had to watch for rogue waves ...

Re: eppaloch redfin
went to lake eppaloch last sunday, bagged out on reddies in one hour. trolling in 3-4m of water. great day. Five months on from your initial post - try and bag out now!!!! There is no limit now!!! How things change - probably for the better in this case even if I rarely keep them anyway. thanks Jim

Re: PRE-TIEING RIGS
Welcome to the site George7. I do not store pre-tied rigs much but I think Tacklenuts noodle suggestion has some merits. With mono or fluro, I believe it is better to be wrapped around a round object to avoid it being kinked which then may cause a weak spot. I doubt if CremeDeLaCreme's foam setup wo...

Re: Shimano Baitrunner 8000D
Which species of fish will you target with them? I have researched baitrunner's at times with the idea of getting one or two but have never purchased them. I probably will one day. One negative comment I have read is they are not suited to surf fishing as the drag system is vulnerable to sand. This ...

Re: Cowes / Corinella Report
Still beats sitting at home! When I go out and have no luck, (it happens often) it just makes me more determined for the next trip.

Re: Rod and Reel combo for trout
^^^ 3-5kg way to heavy for trout. 2-4kg max 1-2kg prefered. 1-2kg ultralight? Looks like the trout where you fish does not grow longer than 20cm. :lolf: As far as I'm concerned both of you have put forward valid options. A three to five kg rod with a 2000 size reel with 6lb line is not overkill and...
