Re: Starting with snappers...any tips

Thanks guys. I ended up buying this one:
https://www.anacondastores.com/fishing/ ... 0757-black

At this at this price point there is not really much difference.

Do you use mono or fluorocarbon leader for snappers?

Starting with snappers...any tips

Hey guys, after having spent the last couple of years on squid fishing, I am getting into fishing.

I was looking at this combo:

What do you think?
Should I go with braid or mono?

Re: New all rounder set-up - What do you think?

Hey guys, squid fishing is becoming addictive and I was thinking to buy a longer rod. I have noticed that sometimes the longer you cast the better the chance to catch something as the majority of pier anglers have low profile, short roads and mainly fish close to the pier. What rod would you suggest...

Re: Fishing on Monday morning

Good ones guys, I guess considering I need to drive one hour and half to find a good spot I`ll leave it to the middle of the week.
In saying that Monday morning I had a pretty good session, 3 + 1 lost while lifting by hand, the last one had 6 followers, first time for me :-)

Fishing on Monday morning

Hey guys, with our piers getting hammered during the weekends, what is your experience with fishing on Monday morning? If a group smashed it let`s say on Sunday or Sunday night, can this potentially affect the number of squids that are in the area or it doesn`t really matter?

Re: Squid jig haul

Mordialloc doesn`t produce much usually, better you try Mornington next time. In regards to the colors, there is a lot of science behind however I am not really sure to which point it makes sense...

For egi I'd go closer to 9ft for land base.
I use 9 ,10ft currently.
Mainly cast distance
Hey, mate, out of curiosity, what rods & reels do you use?

Re: Flurocarbon vs Mono Leader

Ok guys, a bit of round-up, thanks everyone for the good comments: - Fluro definitely better than mono - 20lb leader is fine for rocky areas or areas with a lot of weeds. I pulled the trigger and bought a 20lb shimano leader. This is a good review of what is on the market: https://www.youtube.com/wa...

Re: Flurocarbon vs Mono Leader

Thanks Andrews, yep it would be good to hear from rocks experts :-) It looks like the chance to lose jigs in these areas is pretty high. I am planning to use one float + classic set up
