Cheers guys it’s definitely all worth it for the experience, and now I have an excuse to buy some new gear.

We used to keep gurnard back in the day...so a set of side cutters was kept in the tackle box to cut the spikes off which made handling a hell of a lot easier

Cheers mate. I’ve seen videos of salmon bust ups but never actually witnessed one, salmon were everywhere smashing the surface.
