Re: Another PB wild brown trout for the season.

What a cracking fish mate, and perfect condition too. To me there’s something special about the hook jawed trout. Awesome report and great pics as usual.

Flathead success!

After promising to take a good mate of mine out on the kayaks I finally managed to get him out on the Bay this morning. The target species was flathead, easy to catch, tasty, and very accessible. So we set off, the kayaks were on top of each other on the trolley- not very sturdy but it had never bee...

Re: Westernport mixed bag.

Hey buddy. Great catch. You seem to be happy to catch anything that is on offer. The fact that you fish with your old man is awesome. I remember going with my dad and hoping. We used to get leatherjacket and small whiting and be happy. Gotta start somewhere. We tried GPS. Fishing were boats where. ...

We used to keep gurnard back in the day...so a set of side cutters was kept in the tackle box to cut the spikes off which made handling a hell of a lot easier
Very nasty critters the gurnard, side cutters are a great idea, cheers for the advice.

Good on you, mate.

I used to throw wrasse back also until I had it steamed at an Asian restaurant; never looked back, always a keeper now.
Yeah the wrasse are amazing mate, tastes like crab almost. Sadly the ones we got were too small.

Westernport mixed bag.

After a great session at Black Rock my dad and I decided to head straight to Westernport to fish into the morning. With a new sounder and no GPS marks we found a channel off Tankerton and anchored up with little expectation. Initially there was very little action but as the tide started to flow we m...

Re: Best session ever-Black Rock

Great fight in those fish. Well done. Bleed them next time as soon as you catch them, they taste a lot better.. And change those trebles to single hooks, you will make unhooking them a lot easier. Don’t think many fish go harder pound for pound. And cheers for the tips mate, singles would definitel...

That must've been some heart-racing fishing, good stuff.
Cheers mate. I’ve seen videos of salmon bust ups but never actually witnessed one, salmon were everywhere smashing the surface.
