Re: Goulburn Trout Trip

Great job mate the amount of fishing you do bro it’s like fishing comes before anything else lol Cheers mate, I do a lot of fishing but I've certainly got my priorities in order. I've got a job and I take my school work very seriously, in my latest report I got straight A's in the math and English ...

Goulburn Trout Trip

After a lot of planning, I managed to get together 6 of my mates for a trip to the Goulburn. The weather forecast was not looking good, the first day was raining, and so too was the last which not only meant miserable weather but a low barometer. Undeterred, on the first morning one of my mates and ...

Re: Flathead spearing

Thanks guys, it’s probably one of my favourite ways to get a feed. Went out again the other night and did alright, managed a good sized flounder. That’s a nice flounder mate 😃 How do you usually like to cook your flounders? Cheers 👍🏻 Thanks mate, with this one I cut the fillets off and used panko b...

Re: Flathead spearing

Nice haul and sounds like fun. How bright is the head lamp? Reckon the east side of the bay is with a crack? (Brighton down to chelsea for example) It’s a very cheap head lamp, hard to describe how bright. Got it off amazon for about $20. Don’t know about Chelsea, but I’m sure it would be worth a t...

Re: Flathead spearing

Great stuff again Irish, if you keep eating this much Flathead then you might turn into one. Can you put a pic up of your spear please? Can’t get sick of flathead mate, cooked up 15 in panko crumbs last night for the family, went down a treat. The spear couldn’t be less fancy it’s about 2m in lengt...

Re: Flathead spearing

Hey Irish, nice write up! sounds like you had fun mate. I had a couple questions, when you're out spearing how deep do you typically wade and what time of day and tide do you find is the most conducive for a good session? cheers Cheers mate. I’m usually wading from ankle to waste deep, on this part...

Flathead spearing

After a big morning chasing flathead out on the kayak what better way to wind down than chasing more flathead. Still trying to get the illusive 45cm+ flathead so I thought I’d head down the beach for another try. The conditions were absolutely perfect-flat calm and crystal clear. I started wading, s...

Mate, I'm jealous.
Well done :gj:

What did you use?
I was using Zman soft plastics in a range of colours with a 1/8oz jig head which accounted for about 70% of the keepers. The rest were caught using a strip of squid on a running sinker. Hope this helps.
