Re: Egi Rod for boat use recomendations

I'd say biggest pro of a 8'6 Ego rod land based is your cast ability. You can sling jigs and slugs like no tomorrow... essentially covering more ground. Whilst it's also good in a boat, it's not as necessary. I've got a sephia 8'6 and use it as a whiting and squid rod. I'm still yet to find a stick ...

Re: Baitrunner B series

I use the 6000 and 8000oc versions in wp and get smoked by rays.

Still get them in but if the tides running and they use their body against it it can be real hard work. Especially if you left mono on there.

Burleigh bags

Have two bait freezers full of old yakkas, salmon, pippies, pilchards etc and a wood chipper at hand to create a nice Burleigh mix.

Can anyone suggests where to buy the continuous (circular) plastic bag that can be cut and tied at each end? To suit a Burleigh pot

Cheers

Re: Electric anchor winch

Have had savwinch and lone star.

Both were good, lonestar seems to be just a bit more powerful though.

Make sure that when you set it up you have easy access to the winch. Last thing you want is the rope to foul up whilst you are on the water and you can’t get to it.

Re: How will the lockdown effect fish stocks?

My thoughts are totally self derived so could be hugely wrong but I am gonna say (specific to Westernport): Squid will be bigger on general Squid numbers in the coming year will be slightly higher due to greater amount of squid spawning Gummy numbers in the coming years will be slightly higher as I ...

Re: The Boat of Your Dreams!

I am always looking at different options for the next boat... Just came across this Northbank walk around which looks neat! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ptpnIPsckg&feature=emb_logo That reminds me of a boat as a teen I always wanted (kind of still do...), more my size than the 650 https://www.g...
