Last time i was fishing the waterfront we caught bugger all. Any tips? just flicking 2inch grubs around the yacht club. Me and my mate both saw a big shovelnose and a couple of snapper just cruising around though! Been hit and miss lately. Between now and winter, usually there's aussie salmon around.

Yeah, those under than $100 reels aren't that great, and can make learning so frustrating. Get a decent rod and reel and practise. Watch YouTube videos. Best in person with someone experienced. Once you get the hang of it, its fun to use compared to spin. What's your budget? And what will you be cha...

A friend of mine has it and i tried it. Casting 3-5g gram easily and fairly long distance. The rod super light too.
