Re: Landbased whiting

St Leonards has been going good, plenty of kgw being caught at night along quite a few horse mackerel collecting under the lights. Squid are around, but not as active as it has previously been a few months ago. Still worth bringing a squid jig. You can still get some nice fish in the day, garfish h...

Re: Landbased whiting

St. Leonards peir at night has whiting on the bite or you could try the Barwon river just as the tide turns from incoming to outgoing, that hour window should bet you a whiting on pipies Cheers, have seen that St. Leonards has been doing pretty well with a mixed bag. Will take it into consideration.

Landbased whiting

Wanting to head out one of these next couple of nights for some whiting, been looking at dromana beach/anthony's nose, coronet bay or somewhere around Geelong.
Any updates on these spots or anyone know of any decent spots that have had some fish come through?
Cheers :tu:

Re: Portland kgw advice

Just a quick report from the trip I made, ended up fishing off duttons way beach at night and did well catching 2 salmon at around 60cm and 2 and a half kilos each, heaps of pinkies as soon as the baits in the water but none were size as there were strong winds that would have been pushing the bigge...

Re: Rye land based

Pretty much what Dougie said, always caught something at Sorrento dropping a small paternoster or running sinker around the ferry towers, also caught some big trevally there once upon a time, some big squid around but I've never done the best on squid in Sorrento, probably me doing something wrong h...

Hi wishtofish
Breakwall around 250m up - fish in between the weeds in the sandy areas.
I've caught up to 38cm in this area only 2 months ago on a visit
Thanks so much, really appreciate that

Portland kgw advice

Hey guys, I'm headed to Portland this weekend for a couple of days and want to try targeting some big kgw
I'll be landbased and just looking for some info into spots where I can target them, I'm planning to try and catch some squid in the area to use as bait.
Otherwise will use pipis.
Cheers
