Re: 3 Carp lost to a small hook

Do you lubricate the line prior to tightening up? The heat caused by not lubricating the line can damage it and cause it to break at far less than breaking strain. Also do you have your drag set too tight? Carp can be big powerful fish so if you have the drag locked they will bust you off on 4lb pre...

It's a lot softer than fire line but doesn't feel quite as well made as the sunline. I also bought the 8 strand spider wire on my latest reel i...

Re: Bite detectors

I have used my fair share of the above when doing overnighters for gummys, my preference are these ones as they are really loud and you need a solid hookup to trigger it, it wont go off with the wind; images.jpg For a visual one you cant beat the little glowsticks, they will last a week so can get a...

Re: Torquay Saturday 6th

Cheers guys Nice report :good: It's so cool catching Sambos off the beach with lures. I've been wondering weather chucking a berley bag etc would hold them around longer, what are your thoughts? Never tried it but it should work in theory, bit like me hanging around the all you can eat buffet :dinne...

Re: Fines of $37,000 for taking Southern Bluefin tuna

Surely they could take the ute and boat and rods etc as well?
Would at least fund another fisheries officer to catch more of these selfish #%€¥s!

Still well done to fisheries for catching and prosecuting them
