Squid aplenty

Post by Nude up » Fri Oct 15, 2021 4:26 am

Had a great day yesterday we set out from portarlington headed down to Clifton springs around 9am a little choppy but not too uncomfortable we drifted for an hour for 4 squid. As the grey skies cleared we headed up to grassy point indented head's.
With the wind and the outgoing tide I had to put the sea anchor out to slow the drift the squid were going well here we picked up around a dozen a couple were pretty big. As the bites stopped we moved towards governor reef we found a small patch of weed which held plenty of good size squid we were getting min of 4 squid a drift good size we had not seen another boat most of the day but suddenly we were surrounded by them.
We headed back around 3pm we were going out for dinner and headed time to clean the squid and wash the boat we left them biting

Nice session, sneaky little arrow in there too.
Been almost 3 years I think since I landed my PB. Every time after that I've tried to chase the big mamas something gets in the way. last year and this year was a writeoff due to lockdowns...

The arrow was caught at Clifton Springs thats my second from there. Out of the 4 big ones we caught 1 from Clifton Springs 1 from indented Head 2 from governor reef .
