Hi guys.
I know Lee breakwall in Portland was closed for sometime during the lockdowns. Does anyone know if there are any restrictions now (ie. staying overnight etc..)
Was thinking of a trip down there to fish off the wall for a couple of days.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Lee breakwall restrictions
They close it from time to time when ships dock. Other than that, it has it's own facebook page which I think is run by the local tackle shop, and as far as I can tell they've removed the restrictions.
You're not technically supposed to sleep out there, but I've spent quite a bit of time asleep in my car and nobody really cares.
In case you haven't seen it, we had quite a good weekend a while back viewtopic.php?f=212&t=14956

Thanks for the reply, mate.
Wow, that was an awesome trip. Great effort!! I wonder if they'll be coming in close this summer.
Anywhere to catch livies down there?

Harbour is full of yakks. Everything we got that day was just on little squid strips under floats, but there's no reason you coudln't land a squid and just balloon it back out.

Great to hear there are yakkas there. Last time I was there, couldn't get any livies. Someone suggested to try get mullet from the little creek on the other side of the harbour.
Anyway, thanks for the tips.

There have been heaps of small slimies in the harbour of late so it shouldnt be too hard to berley some up and go from there

Livies help a lot but they're not the 'must have' that a lot of commentators seem to think they are. I've got just as many kings on chunk / strip / squid as i have on a live yakk or slimey.
