RIP The Pies
RIP The Pies
The Pies got absolutely caned by Geelong, amazing the turnaround from week to week, they looked like champions last week when they beat West Coast, this week they never were in the game. Condolences to all you Magpie supporters.
Cheers

I've not seen a better half of football in years than Geelong produced tonight.

How much longer can Buckley last? He must have embarrassing photos of eddie.
Come to think of it... how much longer can eddie last as president? Surely he must get a lot of the blame for ongoing under achievement- he got rid of a premiership coach for an also-ran... albeit a talented footballer... but history has a lot of talented footballers that rose to be poor coaches.

As a Carlton man I’ve got to say that last night was very enjoyable to watch. What a difference a week makes.

At the start of 2018 nobody rated them at all, in fact David King said 'Carlton are closer to a premiership"dmck wrote: ↑Sun Oct 11, 2020 8:56 amHow much longer can Buckley last? He must have embarrassing photos of eddie.

They lost a grand final by less than a goal. Then a prelim by a similar margin. Then in a year when the draw absolutely fisted them and everyone had written them off managed to still win a final in Perth.
I don't really think this is under achieving.
A much bigger question hangs over their medical team and their strength and conditioning department.

I think you’ll find that Carlton is closer to a premiership. Or should that be premierships.

Re: RIP The Pies
The pies had a good year but the hub life did not suit them Grundy is a different sort of guy and you could see he was not he,s normal self .Geelong embraced the hub life and never complained .Go catsDougieK wrote: ↑Sun Oct 11, 2020 1:51 pmAt the start of 2018 nobody rated them at all, in fact David King said 'Carlton are closer to a premiership"dmck wrote: ↑Sun Oct 11, 2020 8:56 amHow much longer can Buckley last? Re: RIP The Pies
I'm almost certain Grundy is carrying a lower back injury but I don't think anything would have made a difference. The pies played their grand final against west coast. It looked like they'd come straight from that game and run on to the field, and in the meantime Geelong put on an unbelievably good performance.
This weekend looks like a pair of blockbusters.
