I agree with the reasoning behind the protests as long as they remain peaceful. The right to protest is what sets us apart from a lot of countries around the world and we should be thankful for that. In saying that the timing of these protests are just wrong and should not have gone ahead, if there is a spike or second wave as a result then the rest of the country who didn’t march would be pretty pissed off to say the least.

Guess it depends on what’s more important to those protesring. Personally I’m glad it went ahead and hope they continue pushing for change. There needs to be more discussions though than just black lives matter as mistreatment by authorities is just the tip of the iceberg in this country.

We showed unified support for our Heroes within this current Covid-19 environment

So the same style of unified support and/or protest could have been done for this or any cause

No one is disagreeing about the reason for the protest it is the timing of it. Don't get confused with that this topic is about covid-19 and through these protests it could possibly send us back to square one.

Protesters may be willing to risk COVID but they also rislk passing it to their co workers next week who then pass it to their elderly parents, who had no choice in the matter.

That is a personal choice knowing that they can risk someone elses life....i think that is the definition of culpable manslaughter if I am not mistaken.

I understand you guys aren’t happy with the timing of it was just saying for some the Covid concerns would take a back seat to race related atrocities. Not trying to say one view is right or wrong in regards to the timing of the rally just that I can understand why many are compelled to protest immediately

Nah don’t worry about the centuries of inequality and the deep rooted sense of injustice. Why would they care about people’s grandparents when no one cared about theirs.

Or that the Indigenous Australians were classified as Fauna until 1967.

Or that that is absolutely not the definition of culpable manslaughter.
