Gee Jude, I think we all agree that everyone is entitled to an opinion but it counts for a lot more if its expressed in calm, "civil" language. I just don't reckon that terms like "Chairman Dan" and "Socialist/Communist wet dream" can do much to promote constructive discussion.
I'm a bit surprised that the mods have let them through.

I suppose my argument was hypocritical in that sense. I hadn’t read through the entire thread, however, I still believe there was an antagonistic essence in what snapper rapper said, which had to be addressed.

SOME GOOD THINGS OUT OF THE VIRUS LOCKDOWN.

Wildlife take over the streets, the world isolates from COVID-19

First and last pic are a fairly common sight though, not sure about the others.

Hey fellas ... Inhale .. holds .. then exhale !!! ... now you all feel better.

If we can all take a pause and appreciated what a dammed lucky country we are in RIGHT NOW - wouldn't like to be anywhere else (even interstate) trying to tough it out with this pandemic. Whether you like Dan the Man or ScoMo - at least they have weighted up the expert opinions before making decisive decisions to try and protect ALL of us. I have said in previous posts - there will never be a 1 size fit all solution that each of you will like but it is a very small price to pay for the safety of us all - especially the vulnerable group in our community.

To Stumpjumper - i am not sure of what age demographic you are in but if you are in the senior age group - i am doubtful that you would have keep ranting on about the unfairness of a small restriction about not able to go and wet a line. Of course everyone can see that the rule was arbitrary created on the run that have put many members of the fishing community on the wrong side. I am sure with the impending relaxation of the lockdown restrictions, the state government is not that naive to ignore the concerns raised by the fishing community in the last month or so. As many have stated, this is a very very small sacrifice we can do to help protect the vulnerable groups in our community.

To Stumpjumper - do you have an elderly parent or a close relative that is susceptible to the risk of catching Covid19 - Highly doubtful because if you answer yes, then you would have understand and would prepare to sacrifice some of your enjoyment to keep them safe. These vulnerable members of our society will never be at eased and get back to their normal routine prior to the pandemic UNTIL a safe vaccine is found - Please don't forget that !! .. On a personal level, received a call from my dad's nursing last night - any call from a nursing in middle of the night usually isn't a good call - Was thinking of the worst but turned out he needed to be transferred to hospital due to his glucose level being critically low. Normally i would have calmed down but was sleepless for the rest of the night hoping and praying that he wouldn't catch a virus to and from hospital - not only for his sake and our but the rest of the staff and members of the nursing home.

This invisible covid19 is real and there are ACTUAL LIVES at risks out there and your behaviour WOULD and WILL be determine how successful we (as a community) tackle this pandemic.

I am following every post and hoping people just move on. I don't want to lock or delete yet again. In normal times a post like this would not last, but these aren't normal times and discussion of what is going on is helping some cope. It also provides information.
There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.

Fair comment re-tyred. There have been some good constructive posts so I suppose we should be able to overlook the sillier stuff.

Well, time doesn't permit pointing out all the factual errors in your rant.
But guess what? ..... those are the measures that have saved thousands of lives! I for one am pleased that our politicians are demonstrating decisive and strong leadership for a change. You may not agree with their decisions but they are at least doing what they have been elected to do .... and that includes public safety.
Can't wait for what will be a rant-filled response :-D
There are no factual errors in what I posted. Certainly not in the same league as the just released modelling that suggests another fictitious number of lives saved thanks to these measures. Let's remember the predicted modelling of 150 000 dead when all this kicked off in Aus. And no I don't accept at all the accusation that I must want old people to die because I don't like being under house arrest....that's just a cowardly slagging off of people with a different point of view.
