20 squid in 30 minutes with video
Just sharing my latest video, a squid frenzy from last Sunday catching 20 squid in 30 minutes.
The full video can be seen at https://youtu.be/kx6VUsAGumg if you enjoy the video then please subscribe to the channel
We launch from Werribee boat ramp at 6.30am in glass like waters and red skies. We shoot across Port Phillip Bay to target squid. As soon as we started the action was frantic, and we landed our bag limit of calamari in just 30 minutes.
We were using a range of squid jigs including Yamashita Live, Rui squid jigs & savage gear 3D shrimp. Using colours green, blue and black. Some caught working the fishing rod and some caught with the rod in the rod holder.
Got inked a few times but its all good fun. My family enjoyed some fresh calamari this week.
enjoy the video

You would have spend longer cleaning off all that ink than it took to catch them lol.
Was that over towards Clifton Springs?

Yeah we had a really good session on the flatties afterwards, but we called it a day early as the wind really got up around 9.00am.

LOL, yeah it took twice as long to clean them then catch them. That is very true.SteveoTheTiger wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2019 10:56 amYou would have spend longer cleaning off all that ink than it took to catch them lol.

Re: 20 squid in 30 minutes with video
Nice. That is a fair hike back to Werribee South if it blows up. I prefer to launch at Newport when i am going to try a run down to Black Rock. It normally gives us an option of Altona Bay if the weather isnt in our favour.
I am still learning the Black Rock area after only venturing down their for the first time earlier this year. We have made a few trips now, but havent had too much luck. At this point i am pretty much just heading to where other boats are or any obvious marks on the chart in search of pinkies. But we will stick with it and eventually i will find some spots i like to return to. Hopefully ill be able to get out again next week.

Try taking their heads of snipping a bit of the top of their hood then towing them in a scaling bag out the back does all the hard work for youthebigal_au wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2019 7:22 pmLOL, yeah it took twice as long to clean them then catch them. Yeah agreed, that's a great idea. I need to buy a scaling bag 100%
