I’ve done well there with squid before.

Should def get salmon, maybe pinkie and trevally. Take few different sinker sizes incase current is strong, and a long net. Good pier

Get there as early as you can, gets crowded.
Carry metal slugs as well, Salmon show up frequently.
carry some squid jigs, often catch fresh bait to use right there.
Have a landing net on a long rope , its a very tall pier and helps hoisting your catch up.

my 2 cents
There is always more to learn , fish to catch , places to see and friends to make.

Yea I’d definitely recommend a cliff gaff or a long landing net in case you get something decent size. It’s a long way up.

I went there just couple days ago. Theres 2 residential seals there that will snatch any squid or fish you try to bring in. It was still pretty packed with fishos going for squid and yackas at night. Early morning on sunrise there is plenty salmon that are all between 23cm-30cm to keep you busy with a few thumpers in their 50cm+, double drop rig with pippy or squid on size 2 hooks will get them. Goodluck mate

As per previous post, between the seal and other fishos your better off finding a nice rock ledge (weather permitting) or even off the surf or local rivers where you have all the space you need and don't need to stress about other people casting over you.

Any recommendations for beaches around there to flick metals at salmon?

Most beaches around there are good. Just need to pick high tide late in afternoon and a low swell day. North wind is your friend around the coast.
