For snapper what size hook do you get and what type
Of rig, running or paternoster ?

Snapper snatchers and whiting wackers are the same thing (but obviously different sizes) I thought the snapper snatchers were paternoster and whiting wackers had the choice of running or paternoster...paternoster works for me anyway. If you want to be conservative, go a size 5 I guess...dont forget to put bait on them & make sure they dont spin in the current. I figure the red ones make it look like the bait is bleeding, but Ive had success with all colours.
I like the cheap ones at Complete Angler, but the quality is rubbish and they dont last very long (hooks go blunt quickly, leader is crap and they fade quite quickly). Black Magics are ok but expensive...be good if Gamakatsu made them.
If you have a steady hand you can make your own... you can buy the tinsel and & 'flashy scale' stuff on ebay or Superoo Tackle & Bait in Bentleigh.

Thanks very much.
Appreciate it

Im always in the market for budget rigs if i can find them cheap enough.

Cheapest i can find no name brand on ebay for pack of 6pack is $3.30 each =$20 set
10 pack Reedy rigs are $3.65 =40 set (cheaper then the website)
With free postage

But black magic 3 pack are about $10 each.
+$7 postage
So if only buying 1 packed cheaper at bcf lol

I have used the cheap ones of different brand but i got then at $1 each years ago (got to love ebay eh) and foud they rust easy and the knots slipped on probably.every 4th or 5th hook.
Just remember you get what you pay for. But were ok for $1 for 1 or 2 days fishing then throw away when finished.

I’d be using a running sinker rig with the ezi clip over the paternoster in my op

The snapper ones or whiting ?

And which one do you buy running or paternoster ?

I go the paternoster snapper snatcher style colour doesn't seem to matter much for the flatties

Apologies didn't realise you're talking western port I don't really fish it but Ppb I just drift the paternoster with the enough weight to get it on the bottom can't go wrong

Hi Guys,

Does anyone know what brand of hooks are used on the Reedys Rigs?

Purchased 10 of the Reedy's Snapper Rigs and 10 of the Whiting Rigs... They look well put together although I haven't fished with them yet...

I buy hooks from Rig Master Tackle and make up my own. Works out to about half the price of premade flasher rigs. Never had any issues with the hooks, caught plenty of gummies and snapper on them.
