Yarra drought broken

Post by longbob » Wed Apr 24, 2013 6:19 pm

I visited the Yarra at Wonga Park this morning and surprise surprise caught a couple of nice Maccas. It's been ages since I've caught a fish
I also did it all wrong - middle of the day, paternoster rig. Go figure. Thats fishing, innit

Nothing wrong with fishing in the middle of the day (unless you are chasing Blackfish!!!) and I think you proved that today :D Also, paternoster rig...do you not think it is suitable? When I'm fishing in snaggy water I generally use the paternoster rig! Well done on your success!

Caught them on the ordinary old earthworm. And I had been told that a running sinker rig was the go for the Yarra. I should also add that I must have left half a ton of lead in the Yarra over the past months - but snags = fishesssss

If you're not in the snags you're not in the fish!!! As they say! I'm heading out on the yarra at warrandyte on Friday morning (got the day off) if you or anyone else is interested. Got a nice spot picked out. Planning on baiting up worms on one rod and coon on the other. Can't wait! Haven't had a chance to wet a line since the famous cod trip!!
If only I could fish more
