Stacer 469 outlaw
G'day all long time no post , I am thinking of getting another boat and am looking at a Stacer 469 outlaw .
Just wondering if anyone has one or have been in one that can tell me anything about ride and soforth will be 80% offshore in bass strait off lakes entrance.
It will have 75hp on the back .
Cheers

Re: Stacer 469 outlaw
Well funny as I've been doing what I described for 40 years in 3.75 quintrex and a 4.2 blufin and I'm still here .
This be me on the 6 mile .

Re: Stacer 469 outlaw
It is a old general rule of thumb that is still very applicable today.
Sure you can go in a smaller boat but the risk is higher and the number of days with suitable weather is much less.
If you plan on doing this regularly buy a bigger boat.

Go for it Tackleberry!!!!!!!! I fish from Lakes in a 4.25 m Ally Craft (much smaller than my previous boats but easy to handle on my own) - OK outside on a nice day but a bit limited. Am thinking of something around the size of your new boat. Not just for sea keeping but also space.

Re: Stacer 469 outlaw
40 cm would make a huge difference in size in that boat range, I can understand your excitement !!
As far as the " old school rule of thumb" Frozen mentions, he is right as a general type " rule"
BUT, having my 5.4 meter boat, regularly out now from Jarvis bay, minimum 25 k's, if I went by that old school rule, I'd never leave the bay.
Experience, is where the old school rule is over ridden and of course by fishing the conditions, which is again all about experience.
Had my o'l girl 60 km's out from Portland several times when I lived in Victoria, always with at least one other boat, but for someone with less or limited experience, it could have turned nasty for them.
Enjoy your extra leg room !!!!

Re: Stacer 469 outlaw
these type of modern alloy boats look really wide, i'm guessing about 2.2m. enjoy the space.
its good to hear you guys having confidence in smaller boats offshore too.
