First outing of 2021
I took off to a local spot today with a truckload of burley and murder on my mind.
Ended up with 13 gars, a multitude of micro pinkies until I gave up bottom fishing entirely and a couple of undersize flatties.
Interestingly despite using pilchards for both bait and burley I didn't see one tommy ruff, they have gone nuts over pilchards previously and I expected to be filling the bait freezer with a few of them.
The gars I put out under a float didn't attract any interest, although it was good to have a bit of practice rigging them up.

Re: First outing of 2021
Have they already put in the new reef? Surely it wouldn’t attract fish straight away

Re: First outing of 2021
It took a couple of years for the other artificial reefs to attract large numbers of target species. You need the seaweed and other encrusting things to start growing on the reef structure before there's anything to attract the smaller species - the larger fish tend to follow after that.
