Yarra River 08/02/2020
Just joined the forum - thought I should not waste any time and get a report up!
Woke up early Saturday morning to get out of the city and chase some trout in the Upper Yarra. Headed out past Warburton East and checked out a few access points I had marked on Google Maps, until I found a good spot where I could throw the waders on and jump in. There were lots of bugs in the sky on the drive out, so I started off with a Strike Tiger Nymph on a light jighead. I quickly changed to a Daiwa jointed minnow and hooked my first brown within 5 casts. I waded upstream for a while before jumping back in the car and heading up to the next spot, and so on. Was a good little morning session with fish caught at every stop, which is a great sign! Ended up with 6 trout all between the 25cm - 35cm mark (all released), and all taken on the Daiwa minnow.

Cheers mate!
I wasn't sure how it'd turn out with all the smoke and weird weather we have had. But the river looked great and the fish were biting

Was quite fast in spots.. I ended up heading further upstream to where it gets a bit thinner and slower, which was much better for wading. Clarity was actually very good too.
