Daylesford Lake Report 10/02/2018
Hey all!
So today, the family went on a day trip to some wineries near Daylesford, so naturally dad and I took our rods and tackle along and fished both Jubilee Lake and Daylesford Lake. We arrived at Jubilee Lake at around 2pm, and fished until 3:30 without any bites except for a tiny redfin smaller than the plastic I was using . We moved on to Daylesford Lake, and I walked around the whole lake casting soft plastics next to snags, and sometimes straight out into the middle of nowhere, while Dad stuck to powerbait and the small jetty.
After a few snags, there was a tap tap and then SMASH! Something big was on, and it peeled at least 20m of drag before I landed it.
I ended up with a BIG 40cm redfin (keeper )and several smaller ones that I threw back, while Dad got absolute doughnuts. I also noticed there were a ton of bites that I couldn't hook up on, so I'm guessing its just baby redfin biting the tail of my lure?
We packed up and a couple minutes before it started raining quite heavily and headed for home.
Lures used:
Zman 3inch Minnowz in Pearl/Blue Glimmer

Good one mate. I go over that way now and then. Fished Jubilee for no fish, even though its a nice looking little lake. Never thought to try the main one in town. Will give it a crack next time I'm over that way.

A while back somebody did quite good a Jubilee Lake (not me), I'm sure they were not fishing the caravan park side.

Well done! i fished the lake for a couple of hours and no bites at all. Would you guys reccomend keeping a redfin from the lake for a feed?
