Hey everyone,
Reporting on all the action over the past couple of days at St Leonard's.
Squid are consistently still being caught along the pier with increased activity around dawn and dusk.
Snapper are still active in the area and are still being caught.
Monday 28/10/2019, sunny evening with light northerly, high water clarity and a rising tide.
Large squads of squid pushed into shallow water near the pier and returned like clock-work every 15 minutes.
Landed my 10 squid within 2 hours, roughly 3 other individuals bagged out and another 10 with 3-4 squid each.
Everyone went home with something, incredible day fishing.
Tuesday, 29/10/2019, sunny evening with cooler wind change. Water remained clear and fished the rising tide.
Squid were quieter and landed a total of 6 squid within 3 hours. Small school of snapper were actively feeding and landed two pinkies sized 36 and 38cm. Friend landed two squid and two pinkies within an hour. Saw another 3 caught during my trip. Large schools of mullet were sitting under the pier all day along with some nice sized leather jackets.
Wednesday, 30/10/2019, sunny evening with a cooler southerly, water dropped in clarity with a weaker current.
Squid didn't come near the pier until the wind change and the current picked up, landing 3 squid.
Two pinkies caught during my time there and saw another 5 squid caught.
Happy Halloween and goodluck with the fishing over the weekend.

Great report Andrews
A trenendous treble of a terrific catch, very impressive and very consistent. Can't ask for more than that.
And yes, a Happy Halloween to you too.
Is that photo of a squid you caught or the costume you are wearing trick or treating
Cheers, Bugatti

Nice squid, sounds like good fishing at St Leonards atm, saw a guy catch a big snapper there LB yesterday on facebook, good to see squid are getting caught in those numbers too. hopefully some show up in the top end of the bay soon, haven't seen a Brighton or Sandy report in yonks and i'm keen to grab my first one. Also completely blew past me that it was halloween today.

Mate that’s some awesome lb fishing!
Bagging out almost twice in 2 nights.
Some nice pan sized pinkies to go with it as well.
Really nice work
Cheers

Thank you all for the kind words and feedback.
It's always an enjoyable time when you're bringing home fresh fish and squid.
I'd say the photo must be my costume, I call it blending in with the locals.
I'm glad to hear that they've also been catching some bigger snapper in the area.
Plenty of salmon, mullet and trevally too.
Tuesday was blessing with schools coming in close, even under the pier at times. I heard that people were bagging out before lunch in the morning.
I hope they move up too, CSIRO mentioned that we've had a bumper year for spawns so hopefully there is plenty to share.
Thanks! I can't imagine a better way to be spending my evenings, looking forward to the cooler weather this weekend.

Wow must've been great feeling!
Good report too. thanks for sharing.
Looks like you live very close to the pier. St Leonards seems to be the hot spot atm with squid, whiting, pinkie, constantly caught.
