Can you fish near Half moon bay historic protect zone at the pier?

Targeting squid to 11am-3pm and also bait the mullet, but can you cast near that boat wrack? Any advice for squid such as wind speed and direction tides too or anything?

Yea I have fished there many times Jase!
When it’s rough it’s good for snappers.
On calm nights you can get squid and gars and I’ve caught some nice kgw off that pier as well

Are you allowed to fish off the red bluff rocks? if so is it any good?

Ive in a boat close to my shore there its a bit weedy and have caught whiting at night in late autumn

Jason I asume you have a smart phone so download the vic fishing app and there is a feature that uses your phones gps and tells you if your in a marine park / no fishing area. It might be helpful.

I've got the app on my phone but had no idea it did this, will be good for when i'm yakking around ricketts to make sure I dont drift into the marine sanctuary. Cheers

yes you can big surf rod and aim for the wreak
