What's a good travel rod 1-3kg under $200?
Hi all,
Need a suggestion.
I'm looking for a 1-3kg travel rod (3 or 4 piece rod). Something that is nice and light (not a glass rod), between 6ft to 7ft (preferably 6ft). Under $200 budget, $80 -$150 is ideal.
It will be my second 1-3 kg rod as I already have a 1-3kg rod (two piece). This will be a 'want' than a 'need'.
Will use it when I go to work and fish after work kinda thing. Or even a hike + fish.
My top three so far :
Shakespeare slingshot 1-3 kg 603
Daiwa TD Black short bite 1-3kg 603LFS
Daiwa silver creek sss 604LFS
The slingshot is cheap, as a second rod it's probably enough, but might regret (not good enough and should go to the Daiwa rod).
The Daiwa rods are a bit pushing the budget.
What do you think of these rods?
Or any other rods I should consider?

Ive got the slingshot 1-3kg 3 piece. I bought a year or two ago thinking it was a 4pc (how its advertised) but the rod itself is actually 3 but comes with 2 tips.

Wow you're right, the veritas 6ft10 1-3kg 5 piece looks great. I know veritas is light, but is it good at the joint? Not too stiff? Especially 5 pieces. Never used veritas. At $149 it's perfect.purple5ive wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2019 2:43 pmThank me later..

That's the one you used for the trout trip we had?happyfriggincamper wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2019 2:31 pmIve got the slingshot 1-3kg 3 piece. I bought a year or two ago thinking it was a 4pc (how its advertised) but the rod itself is actually 3 but comes with 2 tips.
I found one on ebay $86 also saw the 2 piece model at BCF the other day. Don't really like the grip, but can't ask much for that price.

The veritas looks like it could be one bottom end with two of the same middle sections and rod tips, so more so a 3 piece. Looks good thoughSeb85 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2019 4:49 pmWow you're right, the veritas 6ft10 1-3kg 5 piece looks great. I know veritas is light, but is it good at the joint? Not too stiff?
