Went there for a look last week. Blowing its guts out but a few die hard fishos having a crack. Didn't see anyone catching. There are a few squid ink stains along the jetty though. I've heard of kingies frequenting the end of the jetty in the channel but not confirmed. The most people I've seen in years in port Welshpool! It's done wonders for the tourist industry down there but the pub was still closed other than walkers on the jetty it was dead quiet.

I believe the shed is going to be turned into a museum or a shed onshore, a history of professional diving on the construction of Bass Strait oil/gas platforms and exploration. I think the old diving bell is in place already, I've summited old photos from when I was a diver out there and a lot more stuff is being donated from other retired ex divers, Heard opening could be in May sometime, does anyone have a photo of the end of the jetty or know if the bell is in place.
Thanks.

Thank you for the photos, good to see the old 70's bell in place, did many deep-sea dives in that bell on helium mix, brings back many memories, looking forward to the opening of the museum.

This will certainly be a walk down memory lane for you mate, and something to show and tell the Grand kids.
Cheers

Nice also amazed that this is the stuff vic's get while here in qld at most your lucky to get half a table that size and a little bit of hose and a moment style tap on the other, atleast its fresh water tho so you could drink it if you dont want to spend the price for a drink accross the road.
