Jan Juc/Torquay

Hi all,

Currently staying in Jan Juc and wondering what the beach is like to fish? I’ve got surf rods and some friends visiting from the uk, any suggestions of marks in and around Jan Juc/Torquay/GOR would be appreciated.

Thanks

Paul

I’ve had good success with the salmons with metals on the left hand side of the beach in the past.

The wind might not be all that favourable for fishing down that way but see how you go.

If all fails, stick with bait fishing. Double drop rig with big star sinker. Squid or half pilchard on a size 3/0 hook will snag salmon, pinkies and or even gummys. Be sure to fish a rising tide and not a dropping one, difference between very little success and bagging out sometimes. Goodluck mate
