The Gunn 5-8-2018 - 1 x 40cm

Post by nhillboy » Sun Aug 05, 2018 1:38 pm

Hi all, it's been around a year since I last hit the Gunn for a spin session...Took my mate Brighton Bomber with me for some company...Hit the beach at 6.45am (High tide 5.15am- Low 11am approx) Wind was a straight Northley blowing approx 25 knots...Wind chill factor was bloody cold...Sighted only 1 other spinner and 1 bait fisho, no surfers....fished till 9am for 1x 40cm salmon to Bomber....7 to 8am the fishing conditions were quiet good with nice sets of waves rolling in and then it turned to crap. Wave patterns were all over the place and it seemed the wind was getting worse. The lures were getting thrown around by the undercurrent mainly way to our left..ohhhh well that's fishing....Next visit will be very soon but will target a rising High tide to fish into... Cheers for now....

Nice report and pics mate.
In those pics the conditions look nice. Would have been great for a spin session walking along the beach.
Nice fish.
Cheers

Been tough going swell wise down there, even with the offshore winds. At least you saw one caught, eats my last 2 trips.
