And the Moral of the story is??

Get the Professionals to look at it

also take those grommets out and you will use a lot more water than normal, its there for a reason!
That's un-Australian! Might cost you twice as much as getting a plumber, but at least you can say you fixed it yourself!

Worse case scenario is that you buy a set of new taps (you might have buggered them by wrenching them tight instead of replacing the washers)
unaustralian hah!! its called being smart hahaha
what if you can never fix it yourself??
I bet you're one of those guys that reads instructions before you give it a crack as well...for shame!
Seriously though, has anyone else noticed tradies charge more per hour than a brain surgeon these days?
Brain surgery starts at $60k lol.
Pay $2 to 6k just for aneathatist
Intensive care bed $7000 per night nim 3 night stay lol

Hope that makes sense and works for ya...
Cheers Daz
Couldnt remove the white gromit so drilled a 3mm hole threw it lol
Screwed back on and boiling hot water all day and water pressure really increased by 4 fold.

Happy now.

Thanks for all the idea from everyone.
