I intend to be more mobile on the surf beaches this winter / salmon season with lure fishing, the general consensus is to walk and cast till you find them.. my problem is my full length wades and the half length waders are to restrictive, though they do keep me warm. What have you found to be warm and not hinder your movements ? I can't seem to find something light that keeps my legs warm and dry and not restrict walking long distances, I've always been a bait fisho so mobility is not an issue, I cast the the bait out and sit on a stool in the same area.

shorts with thongs or sandals are not an option for me in winter.

What have you found that works ?

Thx for the suggestions ! (still debating a self deploying life jacket and an epirb to put 4 litres mind at rest ! )

I've made a decision... this should keep me warm and almost dry, I should be very mobile with minimal weight to lug around, coupled with a small back pack and one rod I think I can make it to cape shank rocks and back to the carpark.

The pictures I posted are from google for visual only I will buy the below I listed

Used sleeveless wet suit on ebay $25
Rivers spray jacket $28
Neoprene boots at BCF $35

For under $100 I'm happy with this.
