Great idea to help people out but i do see you encountering a lot of problems..

You'll probably end up making a few bucks until one thing goes wrong and you'll end up losing all of your profit.. No one's going to pay a big bond for hire and then someone will end up damaging or losing something that's worth coin. Not to mention all the phone calls at all sorts of hours, people coming in and out of your place of residence (assuming your hiring out from home), security concerns that may arise from that..

Most of those items listed, can be bought for cheap these days for the short term users. Admittedly not quality and not reliable but will do for one time use.. Places like KMart/Bunnings sell cheap Esky's, Tent's, Lanterns, Chairs, Trays/Boxes, Knives, etc.. Even Spinning outfits can be pretty cheap these days.. & not sure you'll get a lot of people hiring game/overhead gear for one off. The one off users are generally on charters or friends boats and are provided with gear.

I guess it depends on your motivation though, that's just my 2 cents worth, all the best with it either way..
Az.

Honest opinion, sh!t idea, your gear will end up next to all the other broken camping gear left at camp spots, cheers davo
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

Probably not the best idea.
Your probably right.
People mite not look after things the same as i would and the chance of things getting wrecked is probably high

You have a good idea,
What are your thoughts on prices??

Can you service your reels? Thats a hard cost
Is it seasonal?
Are you going to have a shop or from home?
My thought is, you have a jig say cost $25 and it gets broken off, you charge the customer $25 you my friend are already loosing.

I really dont want to be negative or put you down at all.
But run your maths and see what you can profit from.

I learnt from my mistake and it aint easy.

Proberly look at buying blank rods get the roller unit and build rods or customs.

All in all trials and errors. Lessons learnt

It will be run from home.
I can service reels my self.
I wouldnt be loaning things like jigs or lures that are lost so easy.
Price would be say game rod and reel combo maybe $20 for 1st day amd $10 per day after that.

If I were you Ricki, I would utilise your boat as a charter.
Take 2 or 3 punters for a day at a$120-150 a head not only you in control of your gear, but it would be much more profitable I assume. Your knowledge around WP is excellent. And I imagine people would pay this kind of dollars for a days fishing with someone who knows what they are doing. Night gummy sessions weekend snapper, KGW or oven Flatties
Just a food for thought

Needs a boat in survey plus, some form of skippers license and insurances amongst many other things prior to running proper charters.
