I'm guessing lots of have seen this all before, but I thought I'd share these 2 images I got of the wreck out from Carrum this morning. I stopped off there pre-dawn (amongst the Fog) on my way out to the Pinnace Channel.
I was happily surprised with the image quality because in the 2 years I've owned the unit the best images I could get were the pylons at Princess Pier ha ha.

Re: Structurescan Carrum Wreck
Wow thats a great result.
Abd shows exactly how technology can help.
Can clearly see that if you were using normal sounder you would not have seen anything since the wreck is a good 10m or so on your right which a traditional sonar would never have picked up.
Can also see the reef on the left which you have just managed to pickup a smidge of but the rest of it would have been missed on normal sonar.
You drive almost in the middle of the 2 and would have seen fkall... thanks to sidescan youi got a good look at stuff that would othwrwise only been visible if driven directly over.

Re: Structurescan Carrum Wreck
Thanks all, Yes I was happy I’d finally seen something. There’s not much I see in the bay where I normally fish in the northern end - just lots of flat mud.
I would have been right over the wreck but another fisho arrived on my starboard side ( in the dark ) at the same time, so he got that spot.
I dropped some baits and waited for light so I could head out further safely.
No bites though
