I have 20lb on main line surf rod. What line should I have on the leader and set up? Will try for squid on other rod whilst I hang the bait in for snapper or gummy. Any tips appreciated.
Are you land based mate or targeting from a boat?

There are huge rays that hang around Stony, feeding off the constant supply of scraps from the cleaning tables. Hook one of those boys and nothing but a big multiplier loaded with 100Ib and a heavy shark rod will stop it, after significant pain has been inflicted on the angler

I’m fishing 20lb mono and a 40lb leader with a 50lb flouro trace. Problem fishing Stony is the tide. I use 4oz breakaway sinkers otherwise you end up fishing at your feet.

Yeah I have similar weighted line. Got squid heads and strips to use. Might go tomorrow with nice night predicted. Hopefully some decent size squid around also and see if main rod goes off.
