Eildon mid day tactics
Looking to fish Eildon tomorrow from dawn to dusk for my first Eildon cod. Probably launch at Bonnie Doon. I have a few tactics for the morning and evening but wonder what to do in the middle of the day. Should I just troll to cover water? Tie up to some trees in deeper water i.e 10m and work plastics vertically? I wil not have bait. Any recommendations?

Re: Eildon mid day tactics
Suggest you check the water level at Bonnie Doon as well as at the wall at Eildon before you leave.
A depth Sounder / Fish finder would be a great help..
Troll Deeeeep - Initially at 30>40 feet if no good raise or lower 5 or 10 feet at a time until you get some action // Pink, gold, frog pattern Tassie Devil for trout // Large Stump Jumpers / Oar-gee / McGrath for Cod.
Jackall and vibes for Yellowbelly off rocky points cast toward bank and worn lures deep back to the boat.
Good Luck
Report on trip would be good.

Re: Eildon mid day tactics
Having not yet fished Eildon for cod I'm no expert, but I would be looking to troll deep divers in around 5-10m of water.
Be worth taking a couple of pieces of cheese or chicken to try as bait around the trees.

Truedogz got a 1 metre cod on the surface (in a river) at midday
During the day, on the cod trip, saw Truedogz get boofed, fishing the snags along the banks.
Just saying
Cheers Gra
