Bermagui report 10-11-12th March
Hey guys, just got back from bermi after a few hot days on the marlin.
Day 1: we ran teasers for the morning, raising 4 fish but having no luck getting em to switch to a livie. So got rid of the teasers and put lures out, and bang, est 70kg stripy on the board for the day. The lure was decidedly fingerlickin’ good..... Day 2: slower day for us, marking plenty of fish but only a single hookup for the day, which managed to throw the hooks right next to the boat.
Day 3: headed to the island and rolled straight onto some solid kings, had a ball and filled the esky in no time. I felt that it was all gonna happen offshore so I said to the guys that’s enough by 8.30am, and we headed to the kink. Barely had the lures in the water for more than 20 mins before the first hookup, which resulted in an est 90kg stripe on the board to the old man.
We had a few more hits on the way south but didn’t get a proper hookup.
Came across a baitball with a few fish on it but couldn’t tempt a bite on the livies. We were all ready to pack up and head home when I marked a fish under the boat Andy got a livie straight back in on the spin setup, and I was on.
After 40 minute fight tagged an est 120kg stripe, my first on the spin setup (saltiga dogfight + ocea switchbait) Great weekend and can’t wait to get up there again!

Top work Scott. Absolutely on fire up there at the moment, looks like it went nuts again yesterday, with a lot of guys pitching livies into the bait balls.

Better, but still getting interference on the low frequency. Back to the drawing boardpurple5ive wrote: How was the sounder this time?
