Did a bit of cradle snatching Today
Hit the water This morning with fellow member and kingfish Guru Mr Henning in The extreme gamefisher affectionately known as Bunksy 3 needless to say plenty of air time was had :super: (i cant seem to walk straight now, or feel my legs, back, knees and im pretty sure few teeth have rattled loose ). really didnt help when an Edencraft challenged us to a race off back to the ramp
Plan was to see if we could jig up some kings and try and get me my first kingfish.
quite a few fish were marked but they had their hearts set on live baits by the looks of people hookign up around us.
we perceived and scott landed a baby one, which gave me some hope hahaha, after a few failed hooksups and seeing them chasing our lures eventually i got to hook and land my first baby rat king on a $5 lure
it was certainly hard work, but the salmon certainly kept things interesting. few slimies, a trevally and a flathead also on jigs.
Thanks once again to scott for helping get the monkey off my back. and his mates in the other boats radioing us in on where the fish were quite a few times.
almost had a chance of landing a better fish but the split ring broke on the lure as the fish was doing some good runs i got the clip and leader back but the jig was missing weird...
all pics courtesy of scott.

It seemed like appropriate conditions to do 35 knots offshore :rofl:purple5ive wrote:new dless to say plenty of air time was had :super: (i cant seem to walk straight now, or feel my legs, back, knees and im pretty sure few teeth have rattled loose )

Absolutly Fantastic work purple....no longer a virgin...great jesture to be taken out by scott as well.
I good idea is grab some xraps next trip....lots off people get sucked into jigging....mostly by people who sell the jigs and jigging rods
All the kingies ive caught in vic have been off xraps....mostly while trolling past people jigging....
Awsome screen shot there. Btw.
Cheers bm

I.personally dont have the required tools (insert massive game boat here) or experience in targetting these fish. So was really helpful of scott to offer me a seat on the boat. He is a genuinely top bloke and certainly knows his stuff.
I actually had xrap divers which i didnt use because we were more keen to jig or cast stickbaits/plastics and see if we could get them that way.
Few people were actuly trolling as well.
Yep we seen lot more marks on the screen but were busy tryingng to catch them.
