A good effort Alex. Eels can be aggressive - I don't like removing them off hooks as they remind me too much of snakes.
My contacts tell me more and more bass are turning up in the Latrobe Valley thanks to the stocking program which puts them within an easy day trip of Melbourne. It is only going to get better in the coming years.

Thanks will, there has been stocking in the Latrobe Valley recently will be pretty cool when they get bigger.
Never thought of eels as aggressive and certainly not at midday.

I admire your tenacity but there is no way I would walk through that bush or river, well done on the huge bass
